Bom jogo. Movimentado e com muitas chance de gol. Os donos da casa não podiam fazer feio.
Good game of Sweden. With young players, as Thern, Dahlin, Schwarz, Andersson, and especially Thomas Brolin, present their credentials for a great World Cup 1994. Regarding to England, they had a great Daley, with did not represent England any more (because injuries) and no much more. The key was Gascoigne, who knows, comparing with Italy 90 and the Euro 1996. Nevertheless, I have a theory with English national team. The great quantity of matches push them. When they were out of Europe, from 1985 to 1990, the were great in both WC, 1986 and, especially, 1990.
I wouldn't say they were great in the 1986 world cup , that's a bit of a stretch. Daley, wasn't really international quality , like many players in this team . England didn't have many international players in the 70s to the mid 90s . Too many, average and club players in that team to be considered a top tier international side . That is why England performed so poorly in the euros . Don't get it mistaken , England had a lot of luck in that in the 1990 World Cup. They got a very cheap penalty , against Belgium . They really pushed their luck against Cameroon .And , were lucky they were playing against a Netherlands side that were in disarray .
