Information

This is the only full match preserved of Manchester United's generation known as the Busby Babes. Nine months later they would suffer a plane crash in Munich where six of the eleven players featured in this match would lose their lives (Byrne, Colman, Edwards, Pegg, Taylor and Whelan), while two others - Berry and Blanchflower - would be so severely injured that they would never play again. As for Aston Villa, they had the chance of winning their first major trophy in 37 years.

Edwards wasnt a centre back he only stepped in when the goalie had to be taken off. He was by far the most skillfull when he played in his usual midfield position and would absolutely have captained England in 66

Edwards playing as centre-back. I don't know if he could be better than Bobby Moore. But was a promissing defender. David Pegg looks like really good. Charlton was the most skillful player on the pitch.
