Un match triste et soporifique qui s'emballe toutefois un petit peu après l'ouverture du score. Les Tchécoslovaques n'ont pas semblé vouloir gagner ce match et les Ouest-Allemands sont donc déjà dans une situation idéale pour aller en finale. Un joueur sort du lot dans ce match : Hansi Müller très bon techniquement comme le montre sa passe à Rummenigge sur le but. La transmission des images est difficile, surtout durant le dernier quart d'heure.
